Blizzard Entertainment has just announced the construction of their very own cutting-edge, esports arena labeling it the “Blizzard Arena” in Lost Angeles. Located in Burbank Studios, the Blizzard Arena is set to open its doors during season one of the Overwatch Contenders Playoffs on the 7th-8th of October.
The Burbank, California venue was custom-designed and built with amenities to accommodate top esports competitors and their fans. With high profile events for Hearthstone esports and Overwatch esports already scheduled, Blizzard Arena Los Angeles will be the hot destination for premier esports competition.
A step in the right direction, Blizzard will now be able to hold all future esport events for their own titles without the restrictions that may come from hiring out a conventional arena.
The Blizzard Arena is set to hold around 450 attendees including multiple stages, control rooms, practice facilities and lounges, meaning multiple matches could be played and broadcast simultaneously.
If you wish to be one of the first people to step foot in the arena, ticket sales have already begun for the Overwatch Contenders Playoffs, then the HCT Summer Championship on Oct. 13, followed by the Heroes of the Storm Global Championships and World of Warcraft Arena Championships.
