Dota 2 International, the largest ever esports tournament, returns in 2017 where the world’s top teams battle it out once again for the Aegis of Champions (and a few million dollars). Since the first Dota 2 International in Cologne, Germany at Gamescom in August 2011, the event has broken the world record every year and with 2016’s prize pool reaching $20,770,460 USD it marks the largest prize pool in esports history.
The event is to be held yet again at Seattle’s KeyArena, set to take place from Monday August 7th through Saturday August 12th. Ticket sales start Tuesday April 4th at 10am PDT and 10pm PDT. Two ticket types will be available for the event:
- Midweek Ticket – $100 (Grants access to the first four days of the event – August 7th-10th)
- Finals Ticket – $200 (Grants access to the last two days of the event – August 11th-12th)
The qualifiers for this years International will be held after completion of The Kiev Major. Open qualifiers will begin June 22nd – 25th and regional qualifiers will follow on June 26th – 29th determining the final contenders.
