Team Liquid are the winners of TI7 (Dota 2’s annual International Championship), taking home a whopping $10.8 million in prize money and earning the Aegis of Champions after an unprecedented 3-0 win over team Newbee.
Lead by no stranger to the international, captain Kuro “Kuroky” Takhasomi lead Liquid with a perfect record in the group stages. The main stage presenting more of a challenge forcing the European team down to the loser’s bracket after a 1-2 loss to the Chinese behemoth Invictus Gaming. The crowd favorite then went onto making history being the first team to ever drop a set in the first round of the winner’s bracket then going onto win the championships.
